Spirit Wolf
There’s a Spirit Dog lives in my house,
Unable to bark, he’s always hungry.
Searching for tomorrow,
Baying at windows edge.
He’s been forgotten,
No one listens.
Marked by lightning,
Blue chromed eyes'
Ever moving,
Hunting the invisible weapon.
Something’s in the corner,
It beckons.
Pawing at hidden treasure,
Sniffing dusted air.
Ghost dogs dancing,
Howling to the New Winter.
The time has come,
All will soon be over.
I’m reminded of memories past,
When we too danced together.
Like wild children.
Round fires made of cedar.
Wolf skins on bare backs,
Shaking down the future.
Time has returned to sender,
The songs we sung together.
Huddled round,
In this small room,
Still scratching at the corners,
Like Spirit Wolfs,
Remember ?
Unable to bark, he’s always hungry.
Searching for tomorrow,
Baying at windows edge.
He’s been forgotten,
No one listens.
Marked by lightning,
Blue chromed eyes'
Ever moving,
Hunting the invisible weapon.
Something’s in the corner,
It beckons.
Pawing at hidden treasure,
Sniffing dusted air.
